Two NYC artists, Britta Riley and Rebecca Bray created a vertical window garden out of recycled water bottles. All the plants are grown hydroponically and it demonstrates how to get the most from a small city space.

This was fascinating. Even wihtout a resevoir and pump this could be done on a smaller scale. I am intrigued! I wish there had been a little more info about the bottles and water flow, but I guess that gives me room to experiment. Thanks.

Window farms + hydroponics = economical city dwellers!
I love growing fresh herbs in my windows. You could sit a five gallon bucket next to the window as a reservoir and run the tubes up to the containers. You could use a modular ebb and flow design to get the most out of your window garden sunlight. Great post!
