If this is your first visit to my blog, WELCOME! And thanks for stopping by.
You can learn about who I am and all about my gardening/writing background HERE.
But if you have a moment, I would love to take you on a stroll through my garden.
Come on, let's go!
I guess you could say I have a cottage-style garden with a touch of whimsy.
I like to tuck little surprises throughout the garden. Take my herb garden for example...As we stroll the garden, you will see that I planted a garden RAILROAD smack dab in the middle!
I built this G-scale railroad garden when my two boys were very young and we have had a ton of fun with it. It combines my love of miniatures with my love of gardening. The boys like to create model scenes with people, dinosaurs and knights. Anything goes! They are always changing the scenery and they enjoy collecting little things to go in the garden. It is a family affair.
The perimeter of the main garden is filled with herbs for cooking and crafting and flowers for cutting.
Over here, is the boy's veggie garden.( I will give full tour of their garden another time.) They grow upside down tomatoes, colorful carrots, spinach, tomatoes, strawberries, blueberries (in pots), bell peppers, potatoes, zucchini, cucumbers, and beans.
They don't eat ALL those veggies yet, but each year, they experiment a little bit more. So far, growing the veggies has made them a bit more curious about trying them in new ways...but we shall see if my experiment works...
This is one wall of my patio area. I got into making water features and water falls a few years back. My favorite water feature is the one centered here. See the water flowing from one water can to the next? The water just recycles all day and night and it makes a great sound. I will have to explain how I made it in a future post. It is not complicated. No Really! Once you make one, they others are easy. Trust me!
Well, I am so glad that you could take this short tour with me. I will show more of my garden in future "garden strolls". Maybe next time, you can stay for tea...
